Primary/Teen Years​

  • Nelson Bay High, NSW – Spent lunch breaks with art teachers, dedicated to creative growth.

  • Year 9 - Year 11 – Attended a Sydney University holiday program in life drawing and completed a TAFE night course in pattern design.

1990 – 1993

  • The National Art School, Sydney – Studied Fine Arts, majoring in Photography.
    Focused areas: Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, and Printing.

1993 – 1996

  • Bobs Farm Café – Exhibition, displayed artwork in cafes, focusing on life drawings, sold. 

1997 – 1999

  • England & Germany – Worked trade shows, building, creating Santa grottoes, as a visual merchandiser.

  • Northern UK – Explored mixed media: charcoal, black & white life drawings, and landscape works.

2005 – 2007

  • Swinburne University of Technology – Completed a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Design.

2007 – Present

  • Freelance Design Work – Wine labels, food packaging, branding, advertising, and websites.

  • 2008 – Commissioned for acrylic canvas paintings; one piece owned by Amanda Pelman (Music Creative Director & Live Event Producer).

2014 – 2016

  • Under Name Gabrielle Gibbins – Created vibrant acrylic works: still lifes and landscapes. Sold in homeware stores such as Twig & Moss.

2020 – Present

  • Art Under Gabrielle Mitchell – Focused on painting and charcoal, with an emphasis on personal expression and authenticity.

2021 – 2022

  • Group Exhibition at Nadia’s Art Gallery, Manning Valley – Showcased work alongside other artists in the local community.

2022 – Present

  • Empowering Art For All – Launched a sensory art expression program for NDIS clients, combining art and holistic therapy.
